Health surveillance puts in place systematic, regular and appropriate procedures
to detect early signs of work-related ill health among employees who are exposed
to certain health risks.
The requirement for health surveillance is referred to, in general terms, under
the Management of The Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
There is also a specific requirement under various other Regulations, including:

Control of Lead at Work Regulations 2002
Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002
Work and Compressed Air Regulations 1996
Ionising Radiation Regulations 1999
Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2006
Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005
